Disclaimer: Rally doesn't own Sailor Moon or any of its characters. Naoko Takeuchi, TOEI, Kodansha & Pioneer do. Rally also doesn't own Sailor Ra\Reina Makobi. Reina is a creation of Ladybug Oblivion (used with permission). Rally also (also) doesn't own Kia Toshi. He's a product of Bubby (also used with permission). Rally does own (finally) Tomo, Nightshade, Hemlock, Belladonna, Tia Cleonia, Osaka and the whole concept of MISQ.

Captain Hemlock was in her uniform today, a green, sleevless body suit with red thigh boots. She had pulled her auburn hair tight against her scalp, using what appeared to be only a single pin to hold it in place. "Recruit!" she half-shouted, addressing Tomo from about two inches from his nose and as if he weren't the only other person in the room. "Your designation shall be 'Ivy'." She paused for a moment before continuing, "Now, what is your name?"
"Ivy, sir," Tomo responded, feeling ashamed of how he was addressing a Lady. His daddy taught him better than to call a lady "sir."
"I can't hear you, animal-scum!" The captain's range had just decreased to an inch and her volume had increased to a full shout. "I said, WHAT IS YOUR NAME?!"
"Ivy, sir!" he spat back without thinking.
"AND WHAT IS YOUR DUTY, SOLDIER?!"
"To serve King Belladonna, sir!"
"AND WILL YOU SWEAR ALLIGANCE TO HIS MAJESTY KING BELLADONNA IN FRONT OF YOUR GOD AND WITNESSES?"
"Yes, sir!"
"Good." The quiet word was like a blast of frozen air after the shouting. "Now, I will escort you to the throne room where you will swear alligance to His Majesty King Belladonna unless you'd prefer to die a gruesome death. What do you choose?"
"I choose alligance, sir. I choose to swear myself to His Majesty King Belladonna."
"No, glory in death, huh?" She seemed a bit distant, as she turned on her heel towards a set of wooden doors.
"FORWARD!" She led him to the throne room, as promised, but after directing him exactly halfway across the chamber, she left the room, closing the huge double doors behind her. After a moment of panic over the abandonment, Tomo's eyes fell on the occupant of the Emerald Throne.
The king was a big man. It wasn't that he was fat, it was that he was tall, very tall and remarkably well muscled for a plant-based life form. His hair was a soft shade of yellow-green and fell to just below his elbows. His face was dominated by his crystal eyes which seemed to devour everything around him.
"Ah," the king said, without much feeling. "You must be the treacherous Moon-child."
"Yes, Your Majesty." Tomo was not about to point out that he was a Maritan not a Lunite. He was pretty sure the king wouldn't take it in good humor.
"So, you wish to ally yourself with Me?"
"Yes, Your Majesty."
"What can assure me that you will not turn on me, as you did your previous ruler?"
Tomo thought quick. It wasn't a question he was completely unprepared for. "My... purpose for abandoning Serenity, could not possibly be duplicated."
"Explain."
This was not something he wanted to go into, not with a stranger, not with anyone really. "She killed my father."
"How?"
"She refused to save him, when she had the ready solution."
"I see. The Queen refused to use her crystal to heal a mere human, but had your father been one of her guardians, she wouldn't have hesitated. Am I right?"
"Exactly."
The King smiled, flashing a perfect set of white teeth. "And why do you expect differently of Me?"
That was not a question Tomo was at all prepared for, so he thought for a moment before replying. "I do not expect differently of You. I do not expect anything of You. You are the Voice. I am merely the action. It is not my place to expect anything of You, but for You to expect anything of me." Tomo's thoughts came out a bit jumbled, and probably could be construed as deceptive, but one look at the King and Tomo was sure that the King understood perfectly.
"Indeed." The single word had all the finality of the slap of dirt on a coffin.
