Chapter Ten
Heero had just sent Wing on to scout. She was riding a wind current over OZ's town square. "There," he whispered as Wing's eyes focused on the sign of the tavern named "Gold Digger." It was decorated with the battered image of a crossed shovel and pick axe. Wing followed the command of her master and landed lightly on the sign.
The angle was off. "Turn." The view shifted across the square. The general store. The bank. The barber. Sheriff's office. Another store with a fancy eastern lamp in the window. The inn. The inn's stable. "Stop." He took a moment to completely absorb the image, willing the vision into human clarity. It was there. Finally, he'd caught up.
"Come home," he directed to Wing.
