We all woke up at 6:00 in the morning and packed up and left in my Gustav. I normally sang when we were traveling but I just drove in silence. Van, Fiona, and Tomas kept trying to cheer me up but it didn’t work. When we took a small break Van, Fiona, and Tomas were still trying to cheer me up when Irvine came up to me. Smack as he smacked with his hand as hard as he could on my face I fell backwards hitting my back on the Gustav. I sat up and put my hand to my face in surprise and to stop the blistering pain as Van, Fiona, and Tomas gasped.
"Will you stop it Moonbay. We will find your brother and your not helping by just keeping quiet feeling sorry for yourself. Feeling sorry for yourself isn’t going to help us find him so just drop the attitude Moonbay." He said furiously.
He looked surprised as if he just realized what he said. I stood up and stepped back from him as tears welt up in my eyes. Fiona came up to me and put her hands on my shoulders.
He tried to say something but Fiona cut him off. "Come on Moonbay lets go get dinner started." She said gently as she guided me to the Gustav to get the pots and the food. She glared at Irvine angrily I took out a pot and slowly started cutting the food up as I cried softly. I started cooking the food. When the food was done I asked Fiona to tell the guys that dinner was done. I picked at my food as we ate. A little later I put my plate down and said that I was full. I walked up to my Gustav I climbed to the top of it and sat down and put my arms around my legs and put my head on my knees. I looked up at the stars when I heard someone climbing up the Gustav. I didn’t bother seeing who it was I just kept looking at the stars. I felt someone put a blanket over my shoulders I looked to find Fiona sitting next to me she smiled and said. "Come on Moonbay lets get down and get you to bed."
"I don’t feel like going down yet." I muttered.
"Moonbay please you need to sleep." Fiona pleaded.
"… Alright I guess." I said.
She stood up and put her hand out. I smiled and took her hand as she carefully climbed down the Gustav as I just jumped straight down. I landed in a kneeling position and waited for Fiona. Fiona took me to where we were camping out. Fiona went under her blanket and fell asleep. I just sat down putting my arms around my legs again. I gazed up at the stars thinking about my older brother. I heard someone sit next to me I looked to see Irvine looking at me.
"Moonbay I really didn’t mean what I said I just can’t stand seeing you like that." He said. "I hate seeing you so emotionless or sad. I didn’t even mean to do what I did it just happened before I could stop it my anger just came out. I don’t blame you one bit if you hate me. I hate myself so much for smacking you as I could. I never mean to hurt you especially like that- " I cut him off by putting my arms around his neck and kissed him.
"I love you so much." He said shakily as if he was about to cry.
Tears welled up in my eyes again. Irvine put his arm around me trying to make me calm down so I wouldn’t cry. I put my head on his chest and started sobbing. He rubbed my back to calm me down I slowly started crying less to where it was just a small amount of tears and had a shaky voice. I put my head up and he put my head on his chest. He and took out the hair ties in my hair and put my head on his chest again and he gently stroked his fingers gently through my hair. I became weary to where I fell asleep on his chest.
