"He will not risk the peoples of Middle-Earth uniting under one banner. He will raze Minas Tirith to the ground before he sees a King return to the throne of men. If the beacons of Gondor are lit, Rohan must be ready for war." the White Wizard finished. Theoden looked grimly at his old friend. "Tell me Gandalf, why should we ride to the aid of those who did not come to ours? What do we owe Gondor?" Everyone remained silent as the King finally spoke up. Aragorn looked over at Theoden a frown beginning to form upon his brow. Amara just glared at Theoden, a glare that promised death for his stupidity.
"I will go." Aragorn began. "No!" Gandalf shouted. "They must be warned!" Aragorn yelled in disagreement. "They will be. You must come to Minas Tirith by another road. Follow the river and look to the Black ships. Understand this: things are now in motion that cannot be undone. I ride for Minas Tirith... and I won't be going alone." Gandalf stated as he looked at Pippin. "But Gandalf!" Ainawen retaliated. "No 'buts' Ainawen! That is my final word." Gandalf barked. Ainawen nodded slightly and gave Pippin a heart-filled look. Amara just wanted to shout at the old man for yelling at her princess, but held her tongue.
Ainawen watched from the stone stairs as Gandalf and Pippin left Edoras, a lone tear trailed down her cheek. "Be safe, my little hobbit." Legolas walked out and held her close placing a soft kiss upon her temple. "He will be fine, love. he's made it this far and he will make it the rest of the way. I know he will." Legolas whispered into her ear trying to comfort his lover. "Do you? Do you know if we will ever see him or Gandalf again? Will we see Frodo or Sam ever again? Look what happened to Boromir; what almost happened to Haldir. Do you know if you will live to see the end of this war? Will I live to see the end of this war?" Ainawen questioned a frown marred her face. Legolas sighed. "No I do not ,but I will do my absolute best to keep you safe, and I fell it in my soul that Pippin will live to see the end of this battle. I do not know about myself or our other friends, but I am most certainly positive we will see Frodo and Sam once again, I just know we will."
Aragorn and the others awaited patiently, awaiting to see the beacons of Minas tirith lit. Everyone was restless including the Sailor Soldiers. Ainawen was playing with Hotaru outside as they continued to wait for the call on when they would leave. Tickling the young girl and listening to her laughs, only stopping momentarily to look up to see the light of the beacons flaring peacefully in the distance. She heard Aragorn's shouts as he ran through the crowd and entered the Golden Hall. Leaving Hotaru with Amy who was sitting outside reading a book, Ainawen rantowards the thrown room and entering the humungous doors Aragorn entered just moments before. "Gondor calls for aid!" Aragorn shouted. Eowyn entered the thrown room and looked at her uncle, followed by her brother. Theoden remained silent as he looked at the small crowd of people who were awaiting his command. Looking up he let a small smile out. "And Rohan will answer."
Ainawen smiled and looked at Legolas who arrived beside her and gave him a chaste kiss. "Muster the Rohirrim!" Theoden commanded. Then Legolas had to open his big mouth. "You will not be going, Ainawen." Ainawen gave Legolas a glare. "What!" Aragorn walked over and placed a hand upon Ainawen's shoulder. "Legolas is right Ainawen, you cannot go into battle, especially in your condition." Aragorn defended his friend's command. "Excuse me, but I will not sit here and twiddle my thumbs because I am pregnant, I will ride into battle whether you like it or not! I am going intol this battle because, I've known the risks we all have and I have made an oath to Frodo and to my father to accompany you on this journey and help destroy the One Ring and Sauron and I can't do it sitting around here! I may be pregnant, but that won't stop me; I went into battle for two months pregnant I think I can survive one more battle, and God damn me I will try. I know I should be thinking about this baby but I can't do that with Legolas out there in a war and I will lose this baby if he is out there and I find out that he is killed I won't be able to live with myself knowing I could have done something to stop it!" Ainawen argued.
"You might as well not argue with her more for you will only lose this battle. Once she has made up her mind she will do anything to get her way. If you leave without her she will follow. I know this for a fact." Amara stated as she walked in after hearing the disagreement take place. "She has survived through the most terrible things and yet still lived on. She is a fighter, whether she likes it or not, she will do what's right. And she is right, if blondie here dies she will not be able to live, she loves him too much. Not only will she die but so will the baby, so it's either lose the baby in the war and have her live and try again or after the war lose her and the child both. The choice is up to you. Me and the others are going to go and get ready to leave." Ainawen gave her friend and protector her thanks with a small smile. Amara nodded and smiled back before leaving the throne room.
